Scientific Achievements

  1. Developed a rapid diagnostic test for diagnosis of rotavirus infection in calves. (Vet. Rec. 130: 381).

  2. Isolated camel poxvirus for the first time in India (Br. Vet. J. 143: 581-582).

  3. Reported Enterotoxaemia in camels for first time in India (Indian Vet. J. 62: 825-827).

  4. Isolated Enterotoxigenic E. coli from camels in India. (First Report). (Vet. Microbiol. 29: 195-197).

  5. Reported CMI responses in rotavirus infection in calves. (J. Comp. Path.107: 115-118).

  6. Reported immunosuppression/immunodeficiency due to environmental pollutants like pesticides, which may be one of the causes of vaccinal failures in livestock and poultry (Livestock International 1: 6-11).

  7. Reported pesticide induced glomerulonephritis in animals for the first time (J. Immunol. Immunopathol. 4: 40-42).

  8. Developed a test for determination of cell mediated immune response “Lymphocyte stimulation test-MTT dye method” (Veterinary Clinical and Laboratory Diagnosis, 1995).

  9. Organized a training course on “Immunopathology: Modern Trends in Diagnosis and Control” sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, as Course Director

  10. Established a society “Society for Immunology and Immunopathology” and working as Founder Secretary General

  11. Established Immunopathology laboratory for evaluation of pesticides for their immunotoxic effects and herbs for their Immunomodulatory Properties. 

  12. Panel expert of ICAR for revising and translating the “Hand Book of Animal Husbandry”, an important and prestigious publication of Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

  17. Technical Expert in Selection Committee of Professor Pathology in other State Agricultural University (SAU’s).

  18. Developed a polyherbal preparation for immunomodulation in animals which was released in a function on December 14, 2001 by Director, ICGEB and Vice-Chancellor, GB Pant University. It was named as “Immuraksha”.

  19. Reported pesticide induced Apoptosis in lymphoid cells of poultry (Journal of Immunology Immunopathology, 6: 98-99; J. Immunotoxic., 3: 1-9).

  20. Scientifically validated “Panchgavya” theory of Ayurveda for the first time and given it a new name i.e. Cowpathy (International Journal of Cow Science, 1: 1-15). 

  21. Got certified CADRAD as “An ISO 9001: 2000 Certified Centre”- The first Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostic Centre in the country to get ISO Certificate (Annual Report CDDL, 2005). 

  22. Established Animal Disease Research and Instructional Farm (ADRIF) for maintaining the positive reactor animals at IVRI, Izatnagar (Annual Report CDDL, 2006).

  23. Providing consultancy to State Disease Diagnostic Laboratories, Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Institutions in country.

  24. Got Re-certified CADRAD as “An ISO 9001: 2000 Certified Centre”- March, 2008.

  25. Initiated Certification of Personnel– as Diplomat Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists to develop certified pathologists in the country.

  26. Reported nanoparticles induced immunopathology in Wistar rats.
